Kas di Sono - Car use on Curaçao
Having holidays on Curaçao without a car will mean you will miss many of its attractions, not in the least the beautiful beaches
on the whole south shore of the island. Furthermore, a car is very convenient when you go shopping or buying your groceries.
Supermarkets are located in shopping areas, most of the time to far to walk. Public transport is limited.
Roads on Curaçao are mainly good though in some places and during the ‘wet’ months there can be some holes in the tarmac, so please
drive carefully. Driving rules can be compared to most rules in Europe and the US (they drive in the right side of the road).
Hyundai Tucson
You can also make reservations including a car. Kas di Sono offers a choice of 2 fine cars, both SUV’s. A compact-SUV (Hyundai Tucson)
and a larger one (Hyundai Sante Fe), both spacious and nice cars to drive on Curaçao. Both have automatic transmission.
The surcharge on the villa rental can be found in the rate section of this website. The rates are very competitive; basis rates come with
own liability of EUR 450,00 per accident but you can reduce this to zero at a surcharge. Furthermore, only local tax is due. So, no
hidden charges, taxes or surcharges and the amount of drivers is unlimited as long as they are 24 years or over and have their drivers
license for at least 3 years.
Hyundai Sante Fe
If your stay is longer than 14 nights or you rent both cars, we can offer you a discount on the surcharge for the car of about 10-15%
depending on the length of your stay. Just ask.
The car is used only by guests of the villa, so it will be in good condition. As an extra, the car is a member of the local Road Assistance
who can fix any problem during your stay anywhere on the island at no charges. They even come to fix a flat tire!
If you prefer to larger car, we can help you. Kas di Sono offers you, in cooperation with her local care taker (Villas & More), possibilities
to have a car with 6-7 seats. Just ask when making bookings or inquiries.
Extra advantage of using our car: we will bring you from the airport to the villa at no extra charge; of course we will bring you back to the
airport too. Normal transfer rate is € 15,00 (about US $ 22,50) per person.
What you have to know:
- we provide children’s seats (if available, please make reservations when booking a car);
- no limit in the amount of drivers, no surcharges;
- the car will be ready at the villa, so no waste of time after you arrived at the airport caused by waiting lines at
the rental companies; and no loss of time when you depart;
- we give you discount if you use the cars more than 14 days or use two or more cars; see the rate section below;
- the minimum age of the driver is 25 but for younger drivers we have some cars available (surcharge);
- a deposit of € 250,- per car (€ 700,- if you don’t reduce the own liability), to be paid by bank or in cash (in euro or dollars);
- the car must be left with a full tank and clean (inside, outside). If not, a surcharge applies.
